The Moxon Vise, named after Joseph Moxon (who described the vise in his book titled Mechanick Exercises), is a great vise. A Moxon vise is especially useful for cutting dovetails and sawing because it holds the material rock solid and in the middle of the vise where it is not obstructed by any hardware.

Rob designed his own version of the Moxon Vise specifically designed for cutting dovetails.  This mini version of our Moxon vise is approximately 2/3rds the size of our regular Moxon vise.  The smaller size makes it lighter and easier to carry, move and store than our regular Moxon vise.  Just like our regular Moxon vise it has a built in support that allows you to set your lumber at the perfect sawing height and then a flip up support to use when transferring tails to pins.

It uses all the components that come in our Cosmanized Moxon Vise Kit but it is a completely built vise.  If you prefer an already built Moxon vise that is ready to use instead of building your own then this is the vise for you!
