Do you find that using your plane's adjusting knob is a bit difficult? Well we did and decided to fix that by creating our Plane AdjuSTAR 2.0 adjusting knob to replace the original adjusting knob on most Lie Nielsen bench planes.
Our Plane AdjuSTAR 2.0 is larger and much easier to use than the original adjusting knob allowing you to make adjustments to your blade depth setting easily. Our star design makes it easier for you to reach and turn the adjuster with your fingers and easier for you to reach the frog adjustment screw with a screwdriver. Purchased for a LN 5-1/2 plane. Works great, true one-finger operation. What I like the most so far is that I can remove blade backlash with a quick flick of my finger. Speeds this up a lot. The paddle nature of the adjustar increases leverage, making it so easy to move the blade. I first thought that I had installed it wrong because of how easy it turns. Well made and well presented in its own case. Would make a great gift. Thanks Rob and team for truly making me a better wood worker and making my shop time more pleasurable.
Saw these on a forum and thought I would give them a try as I’m close to 60 and though my dexterity is still pretty good I would sometimes have to stop planing to make a depth of cut adjustment. This product works as advertised and makes making adjustments on the fly so much easier, I also found that taking up the backlash was easier as well. I bought 8 of these (some small and some large) for my LN planes 2-7, and my 10 1/4 and were installed with ease. I would say I would buy again, but unless I buy an 8 I have them all now :) as a bonus I even got a call from the man himself (Rob) asking my opinion on my purchase
