Replacement blades for Rob's Dovetail Marking Knife.

Straight Blade:

  • The straight blade is designed for tracing tails onto the pin-board using traditional marking techniques.

  • Radius tip “track’s” in the end grain.

  • Wide at the blade tip for better registration against the tail.

Regular Saw-Tooth Blade:

  • Designed specifically for use with Rob's dovetail transfer technique.

  • Made of the same blade material as my regular dovetail saw, .024 inch thick kerf.

  • Regular saw tooth blade has 22 TPI so it goes into the kerf easily.
  • Allows you to "saw" a starting kerf in the pin-board.

3/4 Saw-Tooth Blade:

  • Designed specifically for use with Rob's dovetail transfer technique.

  • Made of the same blade material as my 3/4 dovetail saw, .019 inch thick kerf.

  • 3/4 saw tooth blade has 22 TPI so it goes into the kerf easily.
  • Allows you to "saw" a starting kerf in the pin-board.

.025 inch Kerf Saw-Tooth Blade

  • Designed specifically for use with Rob's dovetail transfer technique.
  • Leaves a .025 inch thick kerf.

  • Works with any dovetail saw that has a .025 inch - .026 inch thick kerf.
  • DOES NOT work with any Rob Cosman Saw

    Perfect for its purpose

I bought this as an extra blade and had it tapered to a 45° angle so I could use it to transfer nerds on 45° mitered dovetails. It’s works perfect for its purpose!

Modified blade for 45 degree mitered dovetails

To cut 45 degree mitered dovetails I needed a higher angle on my dovetail marking knife blade than the stock blade offers. It just takes a quick grind along the back angle to reduce it to 45. It’s easy to switch out blades on the marking tool, so it didn’t make sense to buy a second handle for a blade that I only use occasionally.

The marking knife blade is a fabulous tool, and I like the shirt too! It got recognized when I was
out at a woodworking store. Pretty cool to have someone recognize RC and the PHP on my shirt.

    An excellent product

I bought this extra blade as a thickness adjustment to better match my dovetail saw. It fits the tool perfectly and works as expected.
