Renaissance Wax® is a micro-crystalline wax developed by the British Museum in the 1950s to replace wax polishes based on beeswax or carnauba that contained acids or became acidic over time.  Because of the way it is refined, microcrystalline wax is acid-neutral and does not change color with age.

Micro-crystalline wax is a petroleum based wax, characterized by the fineness of its crystalline structure as compared to other wax structure such as paraffin, carnauba, and beeswax.  This smaller crystalline structure causes micro-crystalline wax to be harder, more elastic, have a higher melting point, and have better adhesive characteristics than other waxes.

Rob loves and recommend Renaissance Wax as a wood finish and for general purpose use as a wax.  A little goes a long way.

Great product, great price

I use Renaissance Wax to protect steel surfaces in the shop, as a finish on some inside panels and to prevent glue from spreading where I don’t want it. I used to purchase it from, where else, Amazon, not knowing Mr. Cosman sold it. Amazon charges more for the 65ml container than Mr. Cosman charges for the 200ml container. I hope Rob doesn’t see this review.
While it certainly isn’t cheap, it is an excellent product and well worth the price.

Great product!

This stuff produces one of the softest feeling finish’s. Great for small boxes, shop furniture, chisel handles, jigs etc.
Expensive, but compare it to Johnson paste wax, it’s gone way up as well. And this goes on much softer and easier to buff.

Fast shipping, good price

Excellent.
As knife collector Renaissance Wax is terrific for protecting knives on display or in storage.
