Designed specifically to cut dry, furniture-grade, soft and hardwoods, our hand saws are made from hefty .035 inch thick, durable SK85 spring steel that has a Rockwell hardness between 50-55The thick saw plate makes our hand saws quite stiff which provides for easy and kink-free sawing and the steel retains its edge longer than other varieties, but still easily hand sharpened.

The teeth are cut using a CNC diamond saw. The rip saw is filed rip cut at 7 teeth per inch (TPI).  The crosscut saw is filed crosscut at 9 teeth per inch.  Each saw has a minimal .003 inch set per side. This makes for a highly consistent and sharp tooth lines that slices cleanly and precisely across the grain (crosscut) and with the grain (rip) while the minimal set keeps the saw laser straight in the cut.

Our closed handle design hearkens back to the Disston D-7 saws of yesteryear, but with our own unique modifications. Our handles have memory enhancing carved finger recesses for a perfect and repeatable fit.  Four brass split nuts and bolts secure the handle to the blade at a hang angle of 16 degrees which keeps your wrist aligned with your forearm for better and more comfortable body mechanics while sawing.  We make our handles from Richlite incredibly durable, sustainable, and versatile material made from High-grade FSC-certified paper infused with a thermosetting resin.

Great hand saws

Used these in Rob's TTH workshop and bought a set. Comfortable, sharp, and easy to cut accurately.

Just dont tell your spouse…

I spent months deliberating over this expense. Watched all the videos, bought vintage/used distons and tried to sharpen and refurbish them, convinced myself that the woodcraft special Japanese saws would do… and after all that, just buy these! The time, frustration, and money I invested into every alternative was not worth it! (Although, my 4TPI Diston Rip makes quick rough work…) I am very pleased, just wished I would have saved the money (time and effort) and got these. Never has a cut been straighter (call it placebo) or cleaner, and it makes me eager to do more.

Got the Dovetail too… if you have the Veritas, boy are you in for a treat!

PS: Rob, make adjustars for Veritas low angle!

Panel Saws

Theses saws are amazing, just like the back saws, not only do they cut very well but as straight as the back saws as well. The handle angle is different to my other saws this size, but work very well to transfer the force into the lower part of the blade and not above the or near the top of the assembly. Great job guys. Was very good to get these in a discounted bundle as by the time you facture in the conversion to Australian dollars and the freight around the world, they are well worth the "as Rob says: the one time expense cry! All the best team.
